Hi ST+,
Well Dave I will not be able to make any of the forthcoming shows I was
looking forward to meeting you personally and travelling to Birmingham with you
but I will have to put all that on hold for at least six to eight months, the
reason for this is I have just come out of hospital,oh yeah I better tell you
what I done (looking for sympathy here methinks)I got my foot stuck in a piece
of roadside kerb and fell heavily at a funny angle and managed to break the
neck of my right Femur, Thats the hip and thigh bone to you Dave, I have had it
put together with (get this fancy jargon) internally fitted cannulated screws,
to me it's been bolted together and it *!@$ hurts mate.
I am busy learning to walk with crutches which I will need for about a year I
have to wear what can only be described as womens stockings for six weeks to
prevent blood clots which are dangerous to life apparently.I had never broken a
bone in my body up till this and I had to do a biggy. Something called sods law
I think. How I miss the morphine
Anyway I hope my super efforts to deliver on time again do not go unrewarded I
seem to be lacking in the T-shirt department and wearing one of yours would
take some of the pain if not all away and I will use it for my physio sessions
followed by my liquid afters at the local boozer, kindly dropped outside the
door of by understanding ambulance men. Well I've asked you and if I don't get
one I'm going to well I'll think of something.
On to other matters now,the new shell I like it, well done !ynot the improvement
is tremendous, To the following people I am sorry I have been a little late
writing to you but I've got a good excuse and I will be in touch real soon, so
in no particular order
DEANO of STOS
Dean Chadwick
Dave Skillen of ST HIGHWAY
and Tony Greenwood via Dean Chadwick and others whose name does not spring to
mind immediately.
Also any foreigners reading this since ST+ is international why not send in
details of user groups in your Country we want at least twenty thousand
ATARIANS in our database so that we can have a voice again, it is happening
here slowly but surely check out the files in the user group section and look
for the one named numbers to see where we are at present. Everyones help would
be appreciated to be more exact. If enough of you help and write in giving and
showing your support programmers will sit up and take notice. I try to keep
files short so as not to bore anyone but to inform them quickly and easily.
Thats it Dave, WHERES MY T-SHIRT!
Steve....

ST+ replies:
Hiya Steve,
What can I say, I'm sure the entire readership of ST+ wishes you the
swiftest of recoveries mate, it's an incredible shame for this to have happened
almost on top of the Atari Shows, believe me, I was very much looking forward
to you comming down, in fact, should you be able to make it you know the doors
will be open for you mate :)
As for the T-Shirts?....well, we're planning (as I type this) the next look
for the ST+ Autumn look, early designs are being looked at but thus far no
solid design has been decided, it goes without saying that as soon as they're
printed your's will be winging it's way to you, at the moment only 3 'official'
ST+ T-shirts exist:
ST+ original owned by me. (Atari show '96)
ST+ Revision 1 one each owned by Pete Augustin and I. (April Atari show '97)
ST+ Revision 2, the Autumn design will have a limited edition of about 10-20
shirts, depending on who wishes to purchase them.
...please, bear with us mate, I can't do a thing untill I've BROUGHT the shirts
ect. printing them is the next tricky step! :)
Once again, all the very best, keep yer chin up mate, we're all rooting for ya
;))
Dave.....
